The short version: the add-on reads a page's domain only, to score it — never stored, never sold, never turned into a history. Reports are anonymous. The website uses basic visit analytics, which you can block. That's it.

The browser add-on

When you're on a page, the add-on takes that page's domain (e.g. example.com) and asks our server whether it's free or gated, so it can color the icon and badge your search results.

  • We use the domain to score it, then discard it. We do not store your browsing, build a profile, or keep a history.
  • The only thing sent off your device is the domain, and only to our own list at free.ai-ministries.com.
  • Your on/off setting and any "don't rate this site" exceptions are stored locally in your browser — not on our servers.
  • No ads, no ad networks, no third-party trackers in the add-on. Ever.

Chrome labels the needed permission "read your browsing history." That's its wording for letting the add-on see the current tab's address — which is the thing we score and forget. You can mute the add-on or exclude any site from its right-click menu.

Reports (Gate Bust & Found Free)

When you vouch for a free site or report a gated one, we store the report — the site's URL, the reason, and an optional note — and never the reporter. No account, no login, no IP address is written to disk.

To stop spam and ballot-stuffing, we may look at your IP transiently, in memory only — to spot floods or abuse patterns and alert us so we can act. It's never written to disk and never tied to your report. Your browser also limits how fast and how often you can submit, before anything is even sent.

Suggestions

If you use the "what should we free next?" box, we receive the topic and your optional note so we can act on it. Don't include personal details — it's about the topic, not about you. A copy is saved on this device so you can see what you've asked for.

This website

The website (not the add-on) uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get used — aggregate traffic, so we know what's worth building. We don't sell it or use it for ads. If you'd rather not be counted, an ad/tracker blocker or "Do Not Track" stops it, and the site works exactly the same.

We choose the most privacy-respecting option on cookie and consent prompts, and the site sets no advertising cookies of its own.

Your data, your call

There's no account to delete because we never made one. To clear the add-on's local settings, remove the add-on or clear its storage in your browser. Questions? Reach the project through ai-ministries.com.
